What makes Beta Chi Theta unique?
Beta Chi Theta holds a unique advantage amongst all Greek organizations:
Leadership through immediate immersion: Most chapters of Beta Chi Theta are small compared to most fraternities. However, we see this characteristic as a vital strength rather than a weakness. While most fraternities have a waiting period for leadership roles, Brothers of Beta Chi Theta are given the chance to lead either through a committee or on an executive board position soon after crossing. In Beta Chi Theta – you will lead from Day One.
Fraternity Career Advancement: Our organizational structure allows top talent to progress into National Director or National Board Positions in their early to mid twenties. Imagine having the chance to lead a national organization at such a young age. You get that chance with Beta Chi Theta
Quality over Quantity: Beta Chi Theta is not interested in the accumulation of members, but rather the quality of our membership. We seek the most intellectual, well-rounded, and charismatic individuals that our nation’s universities have to offer.
Proactive Innovation: Since our inception in 1999, we have constantly innovated. We were the youngest fraternity and first South Asian Fraternity to ever become part of the prestigious North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). Rather than reinventing the wheel, we are able to see what has worked for the fraternal system and choose the best practices. Our leaders are strategic visionaries, constantly improving our infrastructure and developing leaders through proven processes.
Create Your Legacy: As an entrant into our young brotherhood, there lies the extremely rare opportunity to create a lasting legacy by creating new traditions. This opportunity is much smaller in larger fraternities where hundreds of years of traditions have been cemented. Beta Chi Theta encourages its active members to create new traditions of excellence.
Rush: First Step to Joining
You might have heard of 'Rushing a fraternity' and asked yourself what it means. Rush is the first part of our recruitment process and consists of approximately two weeks filled with events. These events range from a 'Meet & Greet The Brothers' to sporting events.
Rush is a time for a potential new member to get to know the brothers and see if the organization is something he might like to join. In turn, it's a time for the brothers to get to know the potential new members and see if he'd fit in. If you would like to find out more about our organization, please feel free to attend our rush events. You have nothing to lose by rushing and potentially so much to gain, so come on out and experience our brotherhood first hand.
Our rush schedule can typically be found on the front page of this website. Feel free to contact us with any questions you have.
Do I have to join if I rush?
No matter what your level of interest, we encourage you to rush, to see if Beta Chi Theta and Greek life is right for you. We understand Greek life is not for everybody. Hence the recruitment process is completely non-committal and all our events are of no cost to you.
What happens after Rush?
If the brothers decide a potential new member is fraternity material, they'll extend a formal bid. The potential new member has three options: accept the bid, reject the bid or defer the bid to the next semester. If the potential new member accepts his bid, he'll start the New Member Education Process (NMEP, informally known as "pledge"). After he completes the NMEP succesfully, he'll become a brother.
