Chapter History
The Beginning
In 2004 a group of 12 men came together to form a South Asian based fraternity. After extensively researching all options, these men finally decided to pursue Beta Chi Theta. Once the genuineness of their interest was proven, their New Member Education Process began under the guidance of brother Vikramjeet Singh Sidhu (Alpha Chapter, Beta Class). The commitment of these 12 men was tested considerably and continuously. However after 8 months, on October 25th, 2004 they become the Founding Fathers of the Iota Colony of Beta Chi Theta National Fraternity, Inc. The 12 Founding Fathers (Alpha Class) of Iota Colony are as follow:
- Jason Abraham
- Nimesh Amin
- Nitin Bhatia
- Amar Bhatt
- Pavan Bhavaraju
- Neil Gupta
- Neal Patel
- Samir Patel
- Sanjay Patel
- Preetham Poonati
- Arif Remtullah
- Justin Varghese
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
In the Fall of 2007, Iota Colony was officially inducted into the Interfraternity Council . This was a clear sign of the quality of Iota Colony as membership in the prestigious IFC is extremely hard to gain.
Chapter Status
At National Convention V, hosted in 2008, Iota Colony applied for Chapter status under the leadership of then president Sam Patel. Chapter status is only given to the best of colonies who have proven themselves by upholding the pillars and going above and beyong the minimum requirements for Chapter status. After diligent deliberation the National Board announced in the Fall of 2008 that Iota colony had successfully obtained Chapter Status

Multicultural Council
In the Spring of 2009, the brothers of Iota Chapter decided to do something no other Greek organization had done before: join the Multicultural Council (MGC) while being on the Interfraternity Council. After successfully applying and going through the probation period, Iota Chapter became an official member of the Multicultural Council. Almost immediately, brothers took charge and were elected as MGC's Social Chair (Bharath Rajan) and Fundraising Chair (Rahim Habib).
