Beta Chi Theta (ΒΧΘ)

Beta Chi Theta National Fraternity, Inc. is a national South Asian interest social fraternity established in 1999 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

National History

Eight young men in the spring of 1999 attending the University of California Los Angeles ventured to create the first South Asian Social Fraternity in California. Find out more

 

Chapter History

In 2004 a group of 12 men came together to form a South Asian based fraternity. After extensively researching all options, these men finally decided to pursue Beta Chi Theta. Find out more

Foundation Upon Six Pillars

Beta Chi Theta stands firmly upon the six pillars of Brotherhood, Tradition, Service to Humanity, South Asian Awareness, Academic Excellence, and a unified Nationwide Network. Brotherhood is the lifeblood of the fraternity and is held in the highest regard.

Meaning of The Letters

The Greek letters “Beta”, “Chi”, and “Theta” stand for Brotherhood, Culture, and Tradition.

The Gentlemen

Nationwide, Beta Chi Theta has over 800 brothers who represent 14 chapters. At Purdue, we've crossed over 50 brothers in our short existence and we currently have over 20 active members.

Councils

Beta Chi Theta is in the unique position of being a member of both the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at Purdue University

Heraldry

The colors of this grand fraternity are silver, black, and white. The mascot is the lion.

Misconceptions

There are a few misconceptions regarding Beta Chi Theta. A major one is that we are an "Indian frat". There are two things wrong with that term. First of all, we prefer to be called a fraternity.
